Would you like to discover the idyllic and authentic side of Tuscany? Would you like to learn to distinguish extra virgin olive oil from other types of oil? Would you like to learn to prepare the iconic Tuscan recipes?

Great, this experience is what you are looking for: visit an authentic olive oil mill in Quarrata (PT), discover the secrets and taste the olive oil, enjoy a cooking class of 3 regional recipes.

At the olive oil mill, you will be welcomed by your private Oil sommelier from ANAPOO*, the Italian association of the professional tasters of olive oil. Together with him you will:

  • Learn about the extra virgin olive oil, discover its main characteristics and the different types.
  • Discover the extraction process of this product
  • Learn the basics of the technique to taste olive oil in order to detect and enjoy its different notes and aromas
  • Enjoy an exclusive oil tasting: taste 5 or 6 types of different olive oils to understand the difference of quality and of types. The tasting session includes: one commercial olive oil, two or three products of the mill you are visiting, 2 or 3 oils of different regions of Italy

After the visit you will head to your Cesarina’s home to enjoy a cooking class where you will learn 3 local recipes (starter, pasta and dessert) from scratch with your Cesarina and discover the secrets of regional Tuscan cuisine.

As an extra dish, you will learn to prepare the iconic Bruschetta (/bruˈsketə/) with Tuscan extra virgin olive oil: the main character of the day!

After the class, you will taste the fruit of your labour accompanied by carefully selected local wines.

*This experience is organized in collaboration with Anapoo, the Italian association of the professional tasters of olive oil. These special sommeliers will be glad to share with you their technique and will reveal you all the secrets and specialties of this unique product.
