This experience was our last meal in Rome and in Italy and it was the highlight of our Italian dining. Sharing a truly "home cooked" dinner with a Lovely Roman couple who used recipes from their grandparents was a unique and delightful experience, not just because of the food but also because we shared a meal and an evening with a local family in their home. The four us dined in Cosimo’s home with his lovely wife, cousin Massimo and his lovely wife. The dinner was absolutely amazing and included the following: Rustic antipasti from Cartelli Romani, Penne all’arrabbiata with Celina olives, meatballs in citrus infused sauce, zucchini with mint and Ricotta and black cherry tart! Cosimo and his family made all of us feel at home and shared many family stories with us. I would highly recommend in participating in these events again as you really do learn about the country from their eyes and not through a restaurant.

Cooking Italian pasta and making Tiramisu with Barbara was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. She kindly welcomed us to her beautiful home and made us feel comfortable right away, gave us interesting information about the place and found a great way of introducing us to the Italian cuisine. Not only did we learn to make three delicious meals but Barbara made us feel so welcome, appreciated and cared for. We felt like cooks and guests at the same time.
