Cooking lesson: learn how to cook Italian recipes with a local Cesarina

Your menu

Let's Cook Together in Sorrento: Join me for a traditional Neapolitan cooking class in my welcoming home, where you'll experience a warm and friendly atmosphere. Start with some Italian prosecco and local appetizers before learning to make fresh homemade pasta (choose from gnocchi, ravioli, scialatielli or tagliatelle). Select a menu option featuring meat or fish, accompanied by classic regional dishes. Enjoy fascinating stories and anecdotes about each dish's origin as we cook. Savor your creations with a fine glass of wine, either in the dining room or on the terrace overlooking my vibrant garden of blossoming flowers, orange, and lemon trees. Cap off the meal with coffee and homemade limoncello crafted from lemons from my garden.

This was the highlight of our stay in Sorrento. Maria and her family welcomed us so warmly. We enjoyed getting to know them just as much as we enjoyed the delicious food we prepared! She even gave us a jar of her homemade sauce to take home. Love the intimate setting too…no more than four guests means you really do feel like family by the end of the evening. (Bonus: Maria is a talented painter, and her original artwork is on display throughout their home!)

Cesarina from 2018Location: Piano di Sorrento    Languages: Italian, English, Spanish

Maria Rosella, our Cesarina host, lives in Piano di Sorrento, a corner of paradise on the Sorrento coast that offers simple and natural ingredients for her dishes rich in colors and flavors. Maria Rosella welcomes us into her cheerful home, within a residential park with a large terrace and garden, to discover the culinary traditions of the area. And she tells us about her culinary passion, inherited from her grandmother, with whom she spent Sunday mornings in the kitchen, while the scent of ragù sauce filled the house, the wise hands of her grandmother kneaded dough and quickly the dishes around the table filled up with gnocchi, ravioli and tagliatelle.
