A wonderful day we will always remember. We are grateful to Carla and Fabio for their warm and kind hospitality. Carla welcomed us into her home and shared with us her love of the traditional cuisine of Ferrara and her pride and passion for the culture and heritage of the community. The meal was great! Carla went above and beyond and even transported us from/to our hotel. To assist in preparing a part of the delicious 4 course meal they provided was a wonderful experience. We are excited to make the recipes shared in our own home. Thank you. grazie!

This was one of the best decisions we made in our vacation planning. We always look for more authentic, non-touristy experiences in our travels. Spending time with Carla and Fabio in their family’s country home/farm for a demo lesson was wonderful. This sister-brother host team clearly gave much thought to producing a healthy, organic, fresh lunch with dishes from the Ferrara region. It was all wonderful. Gnocchi in tomato basil sauce, vegetables in puff pastry, stuffed zucchini, specialty chocolate cake (Tenerina), bread (Coppia Ferrarese), Lambrusco and coffee. Fabio showed us how he makes gnocchi, one of my favorite dishes, and let us take a hand at rolling the gnocchi to provide a textured surface for the sauce to “cling“ to. Bonuses: Carla gave us a “tour” of their organic garden and yard. We used the train to come to Ferrara and Carla picked us up in her personal vehicle for a great ride through one rural part of Italy. She sent us the recipes from our meal together. We were able to be with their adorable furry family member, Gina! It was a phenomenal experience being in the countryside and in a real Italian home.

Carla and Fabio were wonderful hosts and chefs. Their gracious hospitality and Italian farm to table cooking experience included authentic pasta making that was deliziosa! I participated and enjoyed preparing the meal. I would highly recommend.
