I offer vegetarian alternatives

We are in the center of Rome, between the Basilica di San Giovanni and the Basilica of Santa Croce in Gerusalemme, in an area rich in historical, artistic and cultural value.

Cesarina Sveva welcomes us into her cozy home; a home that represents her taste in both style and design.

Her two passions, cooking and photography (she is a professional photographer), have many points in common: colors, shapes and how they can change, as well as the time spent pursuing her interests, which provide moments of reflection and relaxation. She has always loves cooking. She learned from her grandmother, Ada, who she lived with. She watched her cook, using her skills to prepare wonderful lunches and dinners with just a few ingredients.

In recent years, Sveva has discovered Roman and, in general, Italian vegetarian cuisine. She loves to cook fish, but only those that come from the sea. Something she absolutely loves is cheese, so she is always searching for new locally and ...

Find out what people thought of their experience with Sveva

As we were walking to Sveva's home for our dining experience, I admit to some trepidation. This was immediately vanquished by Sveva's warm hello and easy going manner. We felt immediately welcome into her fascinating, typically Roman apartment. By partaking in the cooking experience, sharing wonderful banter, cracking open a bottle of wine, eating her AMAZINGLY simple, flavorful, traditional and light cuisine, we truly got to understand the Roman essence. This night was the highlight of our time in Rome, an unforgettable evening. Grazie Sveva!!!!

Sveva was a great hostess and very good at teaching me and my husband how traditional tiramisu, bruschetta and pasta is made. I recommend her to anyone visiting the Rome area. We had a wonderful time making and eating the wonderful food.

Such a wonderful evening in Roma at the private home of Sveva, who was instructional and a delight to spend time with. We made 3 types of sauces, each delicious, including carbonara (vegetarian style with artichokes to accommodate some non-meat eaters in our family), as well as homemade pasta which was served with cacio e Pepe. We were a group of 7 and we each had a blast and left full and happy. It was truly a memorable evening. Would highly recommend!

We had a wonderful evening with Sveve. She made us delicious food and was a perfect hostess. Her apartment was so unique and artsy. Her cooking demonstration was so good that we have reproduced two of her dishes for our guests. We felt like privileged guests in the home of a dear friend. When the evening was over she was worried about us and even drove us to the bus stop. So kind!
