Roberta C.

Milano (MI) - Lombardia

Roberta’s house is at the half-way point between the Duomo and the Basilica of Sant-Ambrogio, about ten minutes from Milan’s main attractions by metro. If you’re having a day out in Milan, this is in the perfect position for you to come by and taste Milan’s typical flavours.

Roberta welcomes us into her house in Milan’s historic centre to take us on a marvellous journey through the city’s finest dishes. This Cesarina has been honing her cooking skills since her school days; “I started to become curious about local recipes with one of my best friends when we were little. Ever since then, my passion for cooking has been growing. I love spending time enjoying the flavours, and it really helps me to relax.”

Winter flavours in Milan

From spinach pies to chestnut desserts, a rich and diverse experience

Getting off to the perfect start, especially when we’re talking about traditional Italian cuisine, is absolutely fundamental… and this Milanese Taste Experience couldn’t begin in a better way, as Roberta serves a fresh and delicate spinach and ricotta pie.

Next, we have an even more flavoursome first course. Roberta serves up a delicious pumpkin and taleggio risotto. Taleggio is a typical cheese from Lombardy, which provides a perfectly aromatic creaminess to the risotto. When the pumpkin is out of season, our Cesarina serves a delicate saffron risotto, which is another classic Milanese favourite. For the second course, you can enjoy a delicious autumn stew with forest flavours of mushrooms and pancetta. This is accompanied by a side dish of seasonal vegetables.

For dessert, we have two seasonal variations. From mid-October to February, Roberta serves a chestnut cream dessert.

  • Spinich and ricotta pies
  • Pumpkin and taleggio risotto
  • Autumn forest stew (with mushrooms and pancetta)
  • Vegetable gratin with béchamel sauce
  • Cream dessert with chestnuts
