Cecilia B.

Firenze (FI) - Toscana

At the top end of a road just outside the historic center of Florence, across from the park of the Stibbert Museum, our Cesarina opens the doors to her home from with a splendid view of the city.

“Cooking amuses me and always puts me in a good mood. I’m constantly on the lookout for the perfect recipe, and when I find it I guard it as though it was a treasure chest!”. Cecilia’s is a simple, but unquestionably tasty cuisine: “I like inviting friends home, without any formalities, offering them the best I can”.

Once Upon a Time, in a Town Called Florence...

Our Cesarina Cecilia, who loves hospitality and good local cuisine, lives a stone’s throw from the wonders of the historic center Florence, in an area surrounded by greenery. Her flavor journey begins with a mixed appetizer consisting of crostini with liver, various cold cuts with Tuscan-style focaccia bread, and a delicious artichoke quiche.

As a first course Cecilia offers pappa al pomodoro, a thick Tuscan bread soup which comes from the popular cuisine and is typically prepared with fresh tomatoes, bread, extra-virgin olive oil and basil. It’s simple and tasty! The second course is another dish of the local tradition: peposo, an oven-cooked stew with tomato and red wine, which is accompanied by a side dish of mashed potatoes. Our Cesarina ends the meal and the combination of flavors by serving a sumptuous tiramisu, one of Cecilia’s specialties!
