« Je vis dans la magnifique région de Toscane, dans un petit village thermal situé entre la mer et la campagne. Depuis toute petite, j'ai été imprégnée de l'amour de la cuisine grâce à mes grands-mères qui préparaient chaque jour des plats traditionnels pour toute la famille. Je recherche des aliments sains, biologiques et locaux et, dans la mesure du possible, j'utilise des produits de ma propre production comme l'huile, les œufs et les légumes du potager. Pour les amateurs, j'accompagne tous mes plats avec des vins provenant des caves de la région. »

- Our evening with Ilaria surpassed all expectations. From the first moments, she expressed joy, generosity, and warmth--inviting us into her home with a flourish. As we chopped freshly-picked veggies in her kitchen, her young neighbor friend, Martina, helped with translation. We drank Ilaria's homemade spritzers while eating her incredible appetizers. Martina's dad showed up with amazing wines, and we launched into the making of pasta, from scratch, and Ilaria just made everything so easy. She's a teacher by trade, so her passion for cooking is well matched by her ability to help us learn. What fun we all had! Laughter and friendship spilled into the making of the dessert, and then we all sat down to a lively dinner. With the arrival of Martina's mom, Ilaria pulled up another chair and it felt like family. Delicious food, rich conversation, and great wine, long into the evening: one of our favorite nights in Italy! This is a must-do for anyone visiting the area who wants a taste of true Tuscany!
- A night we will never forget! Ilaria is one of the nicest and most generous people we have met on our trip so far. We enjoyed a lovely evening with her and her neighbours and felt like being part of a real Italian family. The food was delicious and was so much fun learning the techniques of the generations of her family
- A lovely experience cooking and consuming a beautiful meal with a gracious host on Ilaria’s terrace. Beautiful meat sauce local style and home made pappardelle. A lovely family desert (a twist on Tiramisu). It was a lovely connection to her family traditions - her Nonna’s recipes and even a vin santo and biscotti using her Nonna’s shot glasses. We are English speakers and the use of translation apps worked quite well. Thank you to Ilaria and her friend Julia. We will return next year when we revisit Toscana.
