Bologna, April 11, 2024 - Home cooking is genuine and tells us who we are, our family history, our local story: in Verona, on the occasion of Vinitaly and the city, Cesarine - the oldest community of amateur Italian cooks - opens its doors and brings to the table the dishes of the Veronese gastronomic tradition to offer the public the opportunity to come even closer to the city. Thirty-eight appointments including dinners, presentations, and cooking courses await wine lovers during the Vinitaly off-show: every day, you can choose from six different cooking courses and explore some of the symbolic recipes of the Scaliger cuisine and their indispensable link with the wines that are ambassadors of the territory: from risotto to Amarone lasagnette, from "cicchetti" to bigoli, passing through potato gnocchi and polenta, ending sweetly with Zaletti and tiramisu.
The courses, scheduled for Friday 12, Saturday 13, and Sunday 14 April (from 12 to 15 and from 19 to 22), can be booked at the following link:
- Conviviality in my Amarone risotto course
- Cooking course on cicchetti and bigoli
- Cooking lesson on the typical dishes of the city of Verona
- Vinitaly at home, an authentic culinary experience
- The magic of polenta
- Three typical Veronese accompanying sauces
Space for in-depth discussion on Sunday 14 with the meeting "Cesarine, Italian cuisine handed down from home to home" during which tech entrepreneur Davide Maggi, founder of Cesarine, will tell the story of the community, between digital platform and promotion of local Italian culture. Appointment at 15:00 - Loggia di Fra Giocondo Stage.
Sold out is the invitation-only dinner "Four regions and one table" featuring the four regions present at Vinitaly and the City: Marche, Sicily, Calabria, and Veneto. During the evening, three Cesarine originating from these territories will be guests of a Veronese Cesarine to tell stories and curiosities with their dishes, with wines selected by Cesarine Sommelier.
Cesarine.com is the first online food experiences platform in Italy with a community of 1,500 amateur cooks who last year opened their doors to over 48,000 guests, predominantly international (+65% compared to 2022). Founded in 2004 in Bologna as the Association for the Protection and Valorization of the Typical Gastronomic Culinary Heritage of Italy, in 2014 the community became a platform under the guidance of tech entrepreneur Davide Maggi - creator of some of the first Italian digital startups and executive director of the Digital Marketing & Communication Executive Program of the Bologna Business School. On its 20th birthday, Cesarine counts dozens of spontaneous applications every week. Vinitaly and the City is the off-show of Vinitaly that every year transforms Verona into the capital of wine lovers.
