Lucia Elisabetta

Basilicata is a fascinating region that even today maintains ancient traditions and deeply rooted popular beliefs. Its territory is rich with typical products, with aromas and wild herbs that are still the basis for the recipes in her kitchen. For Lucia, safeguarding and passing down the local habits and traditions means preserving the identity of her land. In her preparations, our Cesarina tells the story of the harmony between natural elements and the ancient presence of man, ending up with a representative image of her Basilicata.

This rarely happens in life ❤️ The welcome from the hostess and her family was very warm, and I was welcomed like a dear friend. 🥰 For the appetizer, the hostess prepared a vegetable platter with seasonal vegetables, a panzanella, accompanied by burrata, salami, cheese, ricotta, dried peppers, and a crostata; both were specially prepared, and all ingredients were from Matera and/or homemade. 😊 I learned how to prepare a pasta dough for a traditional pasta and was TOP guided and supported the entire time❗️❗️For the pasta, she cooked a fresh tomato sauce with cherry tomatoes and two types of cheese for grating on top. WOW, excellent ❗️ For dessert, there were really delicious seasonal fruits. It was a wonderful time together; I thoroughly enjoyed the fine food along with lovely people. ❤️-hearted thanks for the beautiful hours. 🤗

We loved cooking a traditional BIG meal at Lucia’s family home. This is for 2 guests only, so it is a very intimate class. We felt right at home in her kitchen. Lucia was so well prepared. We made 2 pastas, helped with 4-5 other side dishes and then ate with she and her family. Highly recommend.

We had such a wonderful experience taking a pasta-making class with Lucia! She was so kind and patient showing us the right techniques, and the meal we made together was incredibly delicious. She and her family warmly welcomed us into their home and we had an amazing time cooking and eating and talking together. 10/10 would recommend, and we'll definitely be reaching out again the next time we are in Matera!
