Cooking class: learn how to cook traditional & innovative Italian recipes from a local Cesarina

Shared Experience
Your experience
  • A tasty savoury tart made with olive oil and herbs. Seasonal filling of vegetables and cheeses
  • Barley salad with seasonal vegetables, pine nuts, herbs and sun-dried tomatoes
  • Parmesan shortbread
  • Dark chocolate, coconut and raspberry cake

Summer is here and there’s nothing better than an Italian-style aperitif! To impress your friends with a fresh, seasonal menu at your next picnic or summer party, in this course I’ll guide you step by step through the creation of four foolproof dishes.

Together we’ll cook a savoury tart with seasonal vegetables and cheese (depending on your preferences, for example tomatoes, peppers and feta, or courgettes and pesto), an irresistible barley salad with sun-dried tomatoes, pine nuts and fresh vegetables, some delicious Parmesan shortbread biscuits and a fresh dark chocolate, coconut and raspberry cake. Vegan versions available on request.

And of course, we’ll enjoy it all, accompanied by excellent wine, in my garden (weather permitting).

I’m Sonia, Milanese by origin and a Londoner for about fifteen years. From my Italian roots, I carry with me a passion for good food—fresh and genuine—as well as a deep love for conviviality and hospitality. Among my favorite dishes, both to cook and to enjoy, are bread, focaccia, pesto, and seasonal vegetables prepared in every possible way. And as a true Milanese, risotto is, of course, a must. I love baking cakes, often using fruit and jams from my own garden; I have even created the wedding cakes for two of my closest friends. I am also passionate about wine, especially natural wines, so much so that I spend much of my Septembers harvesting grapes in Italy with winemaker friends. At my table, a good bottle is never missing.
