Loretta

I love preparing traditional dishes from Ragusa and Sicily, using fresh, authentic ingredients and recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation. To me, cooking is a way of preserving and sharing the story of my homeland. That's why I'm also passionate about reading and local history: I believe that every recipe reflects the culture, traditions, and memories of the people who created it.Being part of Cesarine gives me the opportunity to share this passion with people from all over the world. I enjoy welcoming my guests as friends, making them feel at home, and offering them an authentic experience filled with genuine flavors, Sicilian traditions, and the warmth and hospitality that make my land so special.

Loretta and her grandson Davide welcomed us into their home like we were old friends. It was a really fun and novel experience for us to be cooked some truly delicious food by an expert cook and fantastic host. I would recommend Loretta’s kitchen to anyone!

We had a wonderful experience with Loretta and her grandson, David. We learned very much about traditional Sicilian menus and how handmade Ragusan Cavati is prepared. The other items on the menu were delicious, and an extra bonus was that Loretta showed me how to prepare coffee in a stovetop mocha coffee pot. I had been terrible! Loretta and David were great hosts and we would highly recommend!!

I cannot recommend this experience enough!! Our dinner with Loretta and Charles in Ragusa was one of the highlights of our honeymoon in Sicily! They were extremely warm, gave a great pasta making demonstration, chatted to us while they prepped dinner, and then served what was probably the best meal we had during our entire trip. Though we needed Google Translate live to be able to communicate with them beyond the basics in English, everyone leaned into the conversation and we really got to know them and learned a lot about life in Italy (and of course, food!). Loretta is a humble and masterful cook and it was such a privilege to get to eat at her table. If you love good authentic food and connecting with people this experience is a must!

We had a fun and enjoyable cooking workshop. She was very helpful, and together with her grandson—who translated everything—it was a wonderful experience. There were tasty appetizers, and we prepared one type of fresh pasta, the sauce, and the tiramisu. Before the workshop, we had selected two types of pasta and tiramisu online. Unfortunately, the second type of pasta wasn't made from scratch. We had actually hoped for that, as that was the impression we had been given.

We had a lovely time with Loretta, her daughter and son in law. She was a great cook and teacher, definitely recommend visiting. Great food, lovely atmosphere in her house!
