I signed up for a food tour in Parma but due to a poor weather forecast, the tour was canceled and I was offered the option to dine in Catia’s home and enjoy a cooking demonstration. Catia has a lovely home and we dined in front of a lovely fireplace. All of the food was local to Parma. I was able to see Catia make homemade pasta (multiple types), and one that was stuffed with a mixture that included horse meat. It was very tasty. The sauces (and brodo) were simple and topped with lots of delicious Parmesan. There were bites of cheese and meats (Parma ham direct from the farm) and we topped off with a drizzle of balsamic from Modena, I could not have asked for more. Of course of finished with espresso and sweet treats. I was sent home with additional treats as I was just too full to have one more bite. This was an experience I’ll never forget. A very special thanks to Catia and her husband.

My wife and I did the food tour of Parma with Catia her husband. We had a wonderful few hours walking around the city as they pointed out important historical sites. Along the way we stopped at various food shops and restaurants tasting prosciutto, Parmesan cheese and my favorite, anolini in broth. We learned what it’s like to live in this region and how things have changed in the years they’ve lived here. It was very fun and a great way to start our trip.

Un’esperienza semplicemente meravigliosa! Catia ci ha accolti nella sua bellissima casa insieme a suo marito Augusto facendoci sentire fin da subito come a casa. Con grande passione e semplicità ci ha insegnato a preparare tortelli, gnocchi, tagliolini condividendo con noi i segreti della tradizione. Dopo aver cucinato insieme ci siamo seduti tutti insieme alla stessa tavola: era davvero tutto eccezionale. Oltre all’ottima cucina, ciò che ha reso speciale questa esperienza e’ la compagnia: Catia e Augusto persone autentiche e accoglienti. Grazie per questa bellissima esperienza che consigliamo davvero a tutti!!

Questo corso di cucina è fantastico. Famiglia gentile, ingredienti ottimi, metodi di cottura tradizionali. Mi piacerebbe molto tornarci.

We had an amazing experience with Catia and her family. The food and company were great. Catia’s pasta was a standout. She showed us how she made it. Absolutely delicious. Julia, Catia’s daughter was so patient in translating all night. Was truly unique to be able to spend a night with Catia at her home and with her family.
