- Fantastic! Do not miss the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful experience with Ivan! We were so fortunate to spend an afternoon with Ivan and his friend Carla, as well as his wife Paola, and son Federico. Ivan showed us how to prepare several Ligurian dishes in their gorgeous 15th century home, which we enjoyed for lunch with some delightful wine from sommelier Paola’s beautiful Enoteca “Monna Bianca”. (Also very much worth a visit!) Highly recommend. We will return to Ivan for another experience on our next trip to Italy!
- Absolutely fabulous lunchtime experience. What a fantastic meal, beautiful house and most importantly, wonderful company. Ivan is a really great teacher and to top it all off his wife Paola runs the wine shop ‘Monna Bianca’ (via Dante, 56) below the apartment.
- Cooking with Ivan was the best part of our trip. We were celebrating our 25th anniversary as well as my wife's 60th birthday in Italy. Ivan puled out all the stops and make a birthday cake that was so meaningful and also delicious too. The whole experience will become a memory that we will keep forever. I would have given the experience 6+ stars.
- This cooking experience was truly the highlight of our trip to Italy this year. Ivan and his friends and family were wonderful hosts, great to talk to and fun to cook with, and the house/yard in which he hosted us was beautiful and welcoming. While there were parts of the meal prepped for us already (in case we really messed up the parts we made), we got to go through every piece of the meal and try making it all ourselves, with deliciously fresh, local ingredients, and learn about the significance of the ingredients in Italian cuisine. It truly felt like a family experience, including the family style dining with Ivan and his family at the end (including with his cat, Leon!) Cannot recommend this experience enough!
- We had the best experience! Ivan met us at the train station and he showed us the sites of Lavagna. Welcomed us into his home and we made the best lunch! The food was amazing! A must do!
