Grandma's cake

Spending time with my grandmother Carmelina, I learned the secrets of authentic Ligurian cooking: simple but rich in flavor! Sardenaira? Don't call it a red pizza! It's a fragrant focaccia with tomato, garlic, anchovies, capers and lots of olive oil. Tajarin, thin handmade noodles, are wrapped in a sauce rich in secret flavors, just like grandmothers used to make. And for dessert? A cake between sponge cake and shortbread, scented with lemon zest from the garden and a touch of Marsala. A bit of pine nuts, raisins for the lucky ones, as grandma used to say. A journey through memories, scents and flavors of the real Liguria!
