 In 1959, Giovanni Troiani moved to Tuscany, specifically to San Gimignano, leaving behind the Marche countryside. Transitioning from subsistence farming, he specialized in winemaking, focusing on Vernaccia di San Gimignano and Sangiovese. The vineyards, located in Santa Maria and beneath the walls of the village, thrive on variable terrain, with tuffaceous ridges and layers of clay. These soil characteristics impart the wines with significant minerality, further enhanced by annual agronomic choices.
