The city of Trieste is well known for its history, its port, the Bora wind, its historical cafes filled with the scent of roasted coffee beans and a gastronomic melting pot that must be discovered and rediscovered... We can explore and experience classic Mitteleuropean Trieste cuisine at the home of our Cesarina, Giovanna. Giovanna loves simple traditional cooking made with fresh ingredients and seasonal fruits and vegetables. She seasons her dishes using excellent olive oil, aromatic herbs and spices, with small forays into the kitchens of the world. In Giovanna’s kitchen, you will discover a pantry laden with sauces, preserves, pasta, spirits and sweets, all strictly homemade.

Abbiamo passato un pomeriggio interessantissmo dalla signora Giovanna imparando a fare la pasta e soprattutto come creare un tiramisu alle cigliege squisitissmo il cui segreto non passiamo a nessuna delle nostre amiche 😉

Giovanna welcomed us into our home, kindly incorporated our children into the cooking lesson, and served us a lovely meal of the homemade pasta and tiramisu that we created. We really enjoyed our time and highly recommend this cooking class!! Even our picky eater ate a lot of new food and was writing down instructions so that she can recreate the recipes at home!

Overall, the experience was great and the risotto was delicious. We received the recipe from Giovanna, so we can retry it at home as well. Additionally, Giovanna gave us some useful hints about what to do in Triest. There was only a small concern: Giovanna already prepared the broth for the risotto, so we weren't able to learn it from the scratch.

We had such a good time cooking with Giovanna! We made great pasta and tiramisu. We had a small group of four of us, me, my wife and my nearly 80 year old in-laws. The recipes were great and we had so much fun! Looking forward to trying to replicate them back home. Giovanna also gave us lots of tips for getting the most out of the city. 10/10 would recommend!
