Hi from Gisella!

Stresa is an elegant and charming town on Lake Maggiore, full of luxurious hotels, period buildings and beautiful Art Nouveau villas. It is very pleasant to take a walk along the lakeside promenade among flower gardens and small restaurants. The small historic city center is very picturesque, with nineteenth century buildings, terraces full of flowers and the cozy home of Gisella, our Cesarina. We could say that Gisella was 'born in a hotel.' She lived in one until she was 12 years old. In her family’s hotel, she would prepare a snack in the restaurant, eat in the dining room and was prepared simple desserts by the staff. Her passion for the culinary arts was nurtured in this environment, and now she’s a Cesarina!

A lovely morning with Gisella. Who was a most gracious host. The dishes we prepared were delicious. Classic italian cuisine. Simple but good. I hope to give them a try when I get home. Thank you Gisella for sharing your knowledge.

Gisella and her husband gave us a warm welcome, both of them were very good hosts. Before we started cooking, she made different types of bruschetta so we could taste it, it was really delicious. We made 2 types of delicious pasta with Tiramisu as the dessert. All of these were really tasty and Gisella could explain the process very well!

Best part of our trip to Lake Maggiore! Gisella invited us into her beautiful home (amazing furniture pieces and chandeliers) with an incredible view. My family and I have taken many cooking classes while traveling and this was one of the best. Gisella took the time to explain not only how to make the dishes but the history and cultural significance of each
