The landscape of Val di Chiana is charming with its rich in history and Etruscan buildings. Cortona is a small, welcoming hillside city in the region. At its base lies a typical Tuscan stone house belonging to Cesarina, Simona, surrounded by nature.
Simona takes a simplistic approach to cooking utilising the rich flavours of the region’s poorer heritage which formed the bedrock of Tuscan cuisine. Of course, she accompanies her dishes with excellent local wines. As a child she always loved to prepare food with her mother, a seasoned cook and so as an adult she experiments with new recipes and has become passionate about the traditional cuisine of her local area; the wonderful Val di Chiana Aretina.
