Porto in tavola piatti di tre confini: Austria Slovenia Italia. Dalla famiglia natale i piatti tipici e contadini della tradizione friulana come il frico, piatti con verdure dell'orto che seguono la stagionalità o salumi artigianali (marito norcino per passione). La polenta fumante accompagna inoltre piatti di selvaggina come cinghiale o capriolo. Dalla famiglia di mio marito ho imparato le tradizioni più nordiche e slave come crauti, goulash e potiza. Mi diletto anche in impasti con lievito madre per preparare pane e focacce.

If you do one thing in Italy, it should be this- a chance to try the best local food with the most welcoming family, who really made us feel at home. We were able to try a variety of delicious dishes, paired with local wine, and Paola, along with her lovely daughter who helped as a translator, was both a talented chef and a wonderful host. Paola is a true expert, and you won’t find a better dinner at any restaurant in Friuli. What’s more, it was a wonderful way to start our trip through the region, as we learned so much about the local culture and culinary traditions. I cannot recommend this experience highly enough to anyone travelling in Italy.

Learning to cook regional Italian food with Paola was a real treat. It was definitely the highlight of our trip. Paola’s warmth made us feel at ease from the moment we arrived. She taught us how to make different pasta dishes incorporating the different tastes of the region. Her daughter Elisa was a real plus as she spoke English and also helped to make us feel at home. Dining together with her family was a memory we will cherish forever.

Esperienza fantastica. Paola è un carro armato di idee e proposte, ci ha accolto assieme a suo marito con grande entusiasmo e professionalità. Ha spiegato nel dettaglio ogni cosa che avremmo fatto assieme e ci ha accompagnati in questa super esperienza della lezione di cucina con ricette squisite e di qualità. Ha saputo creare un’atmosfera familiare e semplice, intrattenendoci con le sue storie e la sua gentilezza. Ha pure cucinato a parte una torta di compleanno per Matteo, visto che questa esperienza era il suo regalo di compleanno, aggiungendola al menù che avevamo studiato assieme. Qualità, accuratezza. generosità e passione sono tutto ciò che potete trovare in casa di Paola. Da rifare!

I took a chance and booked the slow food experience for my family of 5 adults plus 8 month old grandson and the afternoon spent with Paula and her family was a huge highlight of our trip to this region. We were treated like family in their dining room and helped (but mostly marveled) during the cooking of so many delicious regional foods it is hard to list them all. And lovely prosecco and red wine along with home made desert liquor- we were blown away by the hospitality and abundant flavors of the gorgeous food served. We greatly enjoyed and would do it again in a heart beat! Thank you, Paula and family (gracious daughter Elisa was instrumental in translating!)

One of the best travel experiences I’ve ever had. The food far exceeded expectations and the quality that you find at most restaurants, even in Italy. The familial hospitality by Paola, her husband, and daughter was truly unforgettable. If you want a one of a kind Italian meal experience, I recommend without hesitation and with great enthusiasm!
