Spoken languages:  Italian, English, French

Cooking class: learn how to cook Italian recipes and taste the dishes prepared during the lesson

Private Experience
Your experience
  • Pittule (deep-fried bite-sized balls of leavened dough), eggplant parmigiana, croquettes
  • Fresh orecchiette or sagne 'ncannulate with fresh tomatoes
  • Italian tiramisu with mascarpone cream, finger lady biscuits and coffee

Authentic fresh pasta made from scratch: you will learn how to create the classic orecchiette from Puglia, the twisted 'sagne 'ncannulate,' or maccheroni (your choice). Before we get our hands on the dough, we will enjoy an aperitif in the garden with Salento's pittule (soft, deep-fried leavened dough balls), eggplant parmigiana, and croquettes. All accompanied by fine local wine. The tiramisu will be the classic one, with mascarpone cream, ladyfingers, and coffee brewed in the traditional moka pot. We will conclude our gathering with a refreshing homemade limoncello.

Lidia was a complete joy. So friendly and welcoming in her home. Speaking different languages didn’t stop us from communicating and enjoying a wonderful lunch with her and her family. Would highly recommend her to anyone.

Our time with Lidia and her family was wonderful. The experience was beyond what we imagined, and the food was delightful. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we enjoyed the conversation, the laughter, and the education. We enjoyed spending time with Lidia's son, who spoke English, and his lovely wife. Thank you!

It was such a great experience to learn how to make orecchietti and tiramisu and to sit in a kitchen and outside on their beautiful quiet garden patio that had been in the family for over 200 years! The Mama did not speak English but her son did and was able to explain and be the complete host!

My husband and I had an amazing time! Lidia made us a phenomenal dinner of local Salento food. We learned how to make tiramisu, orecchiette, and eggplant parmigiana. Then we got to eat dinner in her beautiful garden! We also met her son and daughter, who were very friendly and lovely to talk to. It was a perfect choice for our first night in the Salento region, as we learned so much about local specialties and got recommendations on the best local beaches and gelato. We definitely recommend this experience!
