We’ll start by making tiramisu using my mum’s recipe, so she’ll have time to tidy up the fridge whilst I show you how, with just two simple ingredients – flour and water – you can make traditional fresh pasta. Then, using seasonal, local and high-quality produce, we’ll make sauces to serve with the pasta.
There’ll be plenty of tastings of local specialities and, above all, a warm welcome as only we Italians know how to give; you won’t feel like a student, but part of the family.

- We had a lovely evening with Filomena and het daughter Antonella! They both were very friendly and welcoming! The preparing of the food was fun and joyfull! The products were all local and biolocical. Filomena told us a lot of the products and her own garden with Olive trees. We made fresh pasta and sause. We also made a toast with local wine, very good! And she gave us her home made limoncello! We talked all evening, Antonella was a lovely 15 year old girl, practising her English with us. We reccomend it to all of you when you are in Matera! Thanks Filomena and Antonella!❤️🇮🇹
- A must do in Matera or surrounding areas!! We were warmly welcomed into Filomena and Antonella’s gorgeous family home with incredible views of Montescaglioso. To begin we enjoyed fresh delicious aperitivo, and then began cooking our meals, which consisted of four types of pasta shapes, two sauces and tiramisu. This was honestly some of the most delicious food we have ever had! Filomena is very accommodating for any dietary requirements and gave me and my partner a mix of vegetarian and meat to suit us both. She is very knowledgeable and taught us a lot about local Italian cooking, as well as the traditions of the surrounding areas and local places to visit. We finished the night with homemade creamy limoncello to top off the fantastic dining experience. Thank you so much to the both of you for an incredible evening!
- We had a super, wonderful cooking class with Filomena near Matera. A warm welcome in her beautiful home on the terrace with sparkling wine. Then, step by step, we ventured into making tiramisu. A good workspace for everyone was provided. The tiramisu was very easy. Afterwards, we made the pasta dough and various shapes of pasta. Filomena explained everything great and had a lot of patience. Cooking with her and two other guests from the USA was great fun. Then we were pampered with wine, appetizers, and our homemade pasta. To finish, the delicious tiramisu, plus extra sweets and limoncello from Filomena. What wonderful hospitality. Thank you very much. A unique experience. Sonja and David / Switzerland
- We had an really nice experience with Filomena and her daughter. Me, my wife and our 4 year old daughter learned how to make tagliatelle, ravioli and tiramisu. The overall experience was relaxed and fun 😁
