Recently I took an Italian cooking class with Catia, and it was an absolute blast. She was a brilliant chef, but also a remarkable instructor who was devoted to Italian food and it showed right from the get-go. The class focused on making fresh pasta (bogoli) and tiramisu, and Catia taught us each step of the way patiently and clearly. She walked us through how to make the perfect pasta dough and she provided some really helpful tips. I don’t like tiramisu but this was devilishly good tiramisu. It was light, creamy, with the perfect blend of ingredients. Apart from the cooking, the appetizers she made for us were a great taste of Italian cuisine. They were all presented in the most beautiful way and loaded with delicious and fresh ingredients. The variety was impressive. All of this was extra, though, because of the cultural immersion she offered. Catia introduced us to some fun facts about her italian culture, recipes, and food. Her stories not only entertained but they taught us something about the foods we were preparing. You rarely get cooking classes where the teachers are professional and you get to hear real cultural stories, but, Catia did both. The class was so valuable and I cannot recommend it highly enough. It was an unforgettable experience.

Phenomenal experience! This was by far one of the most memorable outings during my time in Italy. With Catia, you get more than a culinary experience - you feel like family. She is able to engage with children as much as adults. My daughter will always remember the first time she made pasta from scratch! Thank you for giving my family such a stellar experience :)

Catia was an amazing teacher and the experience overall was one of the best I’ve ever had. I came in town to visit family and we decided to look for a cooking class that we all could participate in, including my six year old neice. Catia had such a great personality and spirit! She went above and beyond throughout our entire session. She taught us to cook pasta and Tiramisu. Let me tell you now… be prepared to be wowed! She even cooked us an array of authentic Italian appetizers and provided us with information on the history, which only made the experience even more special. Everything we had was delicious! By the time we left, Catia felt like she had become part of our family. If you’re looking for a wholesome cooking experience with a very talented chef I highly recommend Catia. We will definitely be booking again!

I made a reservation through Viator for a private dinner at a local home in Padua, or so I thought. It was much more. Our host Catia explained that it was a cooking demonstration and dinner. My wife and I love to cook and Catia loves to teach. We had such a wonderful evening discussing the preparation of the food we were to eat, the history of food, and the history of the local region. Catia explained in detail her delicious vegan creations, like egg-free mayonnaise. Appetizers were ricotta and caramelized pear, mozzarella “coach” between bread coated and lightly fried, meatless meatballs, tempura pumpkin with “the mayonnaise”, cashew spread with radicchio, and white polenta with soar sauce typical to the region. Our Primi was pumpkin gnocchi (which we helped cook) shaped like pumpkins with rosemary inserted into the top to look like pumpkins, so clever. The sauce was gorgonzola-based, so delicious. The Secondo was a filo dough base layered with a frittata and a fantastic topping. We finished our evening with a sublime tiramisu. As each course was presented so were the recipes and history of the cuisine. Catia was happy to share her techniques and even allowed us to take a photo of the tiramisu recipe. Her home is warm and inviting. Her artwork is wonderfully displayed throughout. Catia says “We arrive as clients and leave as friends.” We certainly felt that way.

We arrived in Padua that afternoon to stay for a few days. Catia was lovely and well informed about the city. We had a great time exploring a city we had never been to through drink and food.
