Como

Alessandro Volta, the inventor of the electric battery and one of the founding fathers of modern electricity, was born right here. The city honors him with the Tempio Voltiano, a lakeside museum where you can learn about his life and inventions—testament to the profound mark his genius left on this place and on the broader history of technological advancement.

After exploring the city, don’t miss the scenic lakeside promenade, a 30-minute walk through historic villas, manicured gardens, and iconic viewpoints. Varenna

The Cuisine of Lake Como

The cuisine of Lake Como is deeply rooted in local traditions, blending Lombard and Swiss influences, thanks to its geographic location on the border. It is a cuisine that highlights ingredients from the region: the lake and the mountains.
