Roll up your sleeves and immerse yourself in the authentic flavours of Puglia with a hands-on cooking class. This experience is perfect for families, food lovers and curious travellers, offering a fun and engaging journey.

The course is designed to combine learning, creativity and delicious results. You’ll discover how simple ingredients – semolina, water and passion – are transformed into extraordinary dishes thanks to the art of Italian cooking.

Juanita was an entertaining and knowledgeable host. We enjoyed her tuition and tasting the goods of our labour afterwards. It felt so special sharing her home and passion for cooking. It'll be a highlight of our trip!

I learned so much and I can’t wait to try the recipes at home. Such a fun and authentic experience. I finally feel comfortable making my own pasta.

Yesterday we had a cooking class with Juanita, and it was simply wonderful. Great atmosphere, we laughed a lot — even when she scolded us for not being gentle enough or for being too slow. We listened to Italian music and drank wine. It was one of the tastiest meals we had in Puglia. Highly recommended!

Juanita We were welcomed by Anita with a warm smile and greeting. She made us feel comfortable from the minute we walked in. She kindly explained our choices for creating a traditional Baresse meal. She taught us the art of making homemade Cavatelli ( pasta )and Sporcamuss ( puff pastry). Anita continued to educate us on her knowledge of cooking and the traditions of the Puglia culture. Being Italian American the whole experience was old school Italian living… Perfectto …..🇮🇹💯

An informative and delicious lesson in Puglian cuisine. Juanita was patient and knowledgeable. We were treated to a delicious aperitivo which was carefully and lovingly prepared for us by Juanita. Her attention to detail is remarkable and we could see the pride in everything that she does. Even a seasoned cook will learn a few ideas! A must do when in Bari!

The city of Bari is a fascinating discovery. The city’s two “faces” consist of the elegant murattiano neighborhood (the modern district) and the old city of Bari, nestled on the Adriatic Sea.    Bari is a sun-filled city, full of historical and gastronomic traditions. Here, you can explore the narrow streets of the old city, guided by the scent of Friselle (a dry and crunchy twice-baked bread), fresh olive oil and sun-ripened tomatoes, or watch mesmerized as the local massaie (homemakers) work intently at the art of folding orecchiette, which is not just a pasta, but a gastronomic religion.  The flavors and aromas of Bari’s cuisine take us to the home of our Cesarina, Juanita, who inherited her passion for the culinary arts from her grandmother Matilda, queen of the kitchen. Her name - Juanita - can be misleading; however, she really is of Puglia origins. This is made apparent just by sitting at her table, a table full of dishes linked to the local traditions, typical orecchiette con rape (rapini or broccoli raab with pasta), il polpo alla pignata (stewed octopus) or cavatelli con le cozze (pasta with mussels), and of course taralli (a dry and crunchy bread twist) that accompany every dish.
