Cooking class: learn how to cook traditional & innovative Italian recipes from a local Cesarina
Shared Experience
Your experience
I will guide you in the preparation of ravioli and tortelli with various fillings, just as the Italian tradition dictates, and then make our country's dessert of excellence, Tiramisu with cocoa and coffee. When the cooking class is over, we will sit down at the table to enjoy the dishes we have just prepared, accompanied by a good glass of local wine chosen especially for you!
It was amazing! A good mix between looking how it's done, and doing it yourselves. And it tastes so good!

Upon our arrival, Giovanni welcomed us to his home with prosecco, water, and snacks. His home has an interesting mix of antique art & furniture and modern appointments. After Giovanni explained and demonstrated how to make tiramisu, ravioli, and spaghetti, he gave us the opportunity to try making each. He was patient and thoughtful. We worked in his kitchen and ate the food that we prepared in his dining room. It was a very hot day, but his home has air conditioning and we were very comfortable. The food was delicious and there was a lot more food than we could eat. He offered wine with the food and limoncello afterwards. The experience was excellent, and we highly recommend it.

A really enjoyable evening. Giovanni and his wife were wonderful hosts. He was an excellent teacher and the subsequent meal was delicious.

My thought as I rated 4 stars was that I had hoped for a bit more hands on. We did get a chance to try Giovanni’s tasks, however, briefly. Also, I had requested English and it worked out with some technology but the language barrier did play a role in the end. We did learn pasta but we’re not privy to the filling recipe or the sauce recipes. I suppose that is a technicality. All in all we are very happy that we did this experience.

Giovanni welcomes us in his beautiful loft in the heart of the wonderful Trieste. Of his passion for cooking he is keen to emphasize that initially cooking for him was a necessity but slowly the flame of a real passion arose in him that has fueled, over the years, following various cooking courses, including prestigious ones, in around Italy. Today Giovanni opens the doors of his home to share the flavors of his city with gourmets, with the awareness of those who love the local gastronomic tradition and have the tricks of the trade.
