After a tour of the market, where we will buy fresh products of our choice, we will go to my house and cook together.
It will be a pleasant lunch under the banner of typical Sicilian cuisine. I love to cook in company and tell the reason why it is chosen. A certain product in my recipe. I use a lot the products of my land and my city so in my recipes you will often find almonds, from the nearby city of Avola (almond Pizzita of Avola igp) and lemons (the female lemon of Syracuse igp). We will prepare fresh pasta and season it with the fresh ingredients purchased at the market. My secret ingredient in the kitchen is the love for the territory and respect for tradition with some small innovation and customization.

- It was a really great experience. Gilda has welcomed us in her house and we felt like at home. She knows a lot about cooking and taught us how to make the perfect pasta. We cooked two different pasta dishes together and prepared a tiramisu. Then we ate together with her family. It was simply a perfect evening.

- My family and friends all participated in this amazing experience. The 8 of us met with Gilda in the Ortigia market where she showed us the different food vendors and advised us where to shop for the freshest items. Afterwards at her home with the lovely kitchen, we watched as she prepared several dishes, including caponade, pork spadini, pasta with a tomato and sausage sauce, and canolli filling to stuff the shells for dessert. Lunch included all the above, after being presented with an amazing Antipasta Italiana (a meat and cheese board) and a sciacia, a stuffed bread with cheeses and meats. It was an amazing experience to watch Gilda prepare each dish and hear her explain everything as she worked. We thoroughly enjoyed learning the recipes and methods of cooking her delicious meal. It was a memorable experience that we all are still talking about and will remember for a very long time.
