Cooking class: learn how to cook Italian recipes and taste the dishes prepared during the lesson
Private Experience
Your experience
- Smashed macarel fish with creme cheese and horseradish
- Filled fresh pasta homemade
- Zuppa Inglese
A choice intended for "proximity tourists," Austrians and Germans, for whom the Trieste menu would be too similar to the flavors they are used to enjoying in their parts.
A menu that will include a taste of Trieste cuisine, but also flavors related to the traditions of Italy such as fresh stuffed pasta, dairy products typical of the southern regions, and spoon desserts characteristic of our end-of-meal dishes. It will therefore be a journey in "home cooking from the North to the South of Italy," filled with tales and stories that also enhance my Roman origins and my passion for the culinary traditions of our beautiful country. The menu will vary according to the season and is for a minimum of 4 people.

- Rita was warm and friendly and get home was eclectic and like a page out of magazine. We had the best time learning how to make fettuccine and she had everything planned out to have gluten free options for me. I was so touched by how well she accommodated my allergy. I highly recommend. She loves close to the port in Trieste and it was simple to walk to her charming apartment.
- This was our most favorite hands on cooking class. The food was delicious . Our chef Rita exceptional and so personal. DO NOT MISS THIS EXPERIENCE. Rita is great
- Rita was so very kind and lots of fun. She taught us how to make several types of pasta in a relaxed, yet instructional manner. Our party can be a handful and Rita was very patient with us throughout the class. We all greatly enjoyed the class and getting to meet Rita and her husband!

Visiting Trieste means embarking on a cultural journey that recalls past habits and lifestyles. The city is set in a fascinating landscape that still maintains a strong presence in the local culture. First, there is the sea, then the Karst Hills and the nearby forest. A city where you can sense the literary presence of the past in every corner and alley, famous authors such as Svevo, Freud, Saba and Joyce.
In this city, full of numerous churches, museums, literary cafes, Art Nouveau buildings and artisan workshops, we meet Rita, our Cesarina. Rita is passionate about cooking, very meticulous and fond of the technical aspects. As a professional restorer, she studied chemistry and now applies her skills to finding the perfect equilibrium when leavening or combining various ingredients together, creating the perfect recipe!
At Rita’s, an elegant apartment furnished in good taste and with creative flair, we can savor the variety and richness of the traditional cuisine from the capital of Friuli, which despite being on the sea offers a wide variety of dishes based on meat, legumes and other agricultural products.
