Enjoy an eco-friendly experience in Syracuse, walking through historic markets and discovering traditional cuisine. We’ll begin with a visit to the ancient Ortigia Market, the heart of local life, where we’ll explore stalls filled with fresh, seasonal products.
Our walking tour will then continue along Corso Umberto with a stop at “Al Tagliere,” a charming shop offering typical Sicilian specialties. Next, we’ll visit “Gusto,” a grocery store known for its top-quality vegetables, cured meats, and traditional preserves. Our final stop will be my home, where we’ll dive into a hands-on cooking class and make fresh pasta together, such as garganelli or busiate. Don’t worry,I’ll guide you through every step! We’ll finish by preparing a seasonal sauce and enjoying our meal with a glass of wine.

- Maria-Rita is lovely, passionate host. While kneading the dough we chatted while pasta was the optimal solution to feed families in pre-industrial times, what is typical in various regions of Sicily and so on. We prepared and cooked the pasta together. The main dish, excellent sardines, and cannoli was prepared by Maria-Rita. We had a great time and food together.
- Wonderful cooking night with Maria Rita in her beautiful home! We had fun making fresh pasta, a regional potato dish and tiramisu. Even learned some interesting food facts about Sicilian cuisine! Maria was patient and kind - we thank her for a beautiful night!

The whole cookery and lunch experience was 5 ⭐⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We agreed at the start what to cook from a choice of recipes of Maria Rita. Such an accomplished cook. I am looking forward to trying the Ravioli, pepperonata and almond biscuits again! So tasty and I learnt so many tips on ingredients and methods. I hope to come and learn some more again 😊 Highly recommend

The food was amazing and it was such a fun experience. My husband and I enjoyed this very much! Maria Rita and her husband were wonderful hosts, so kind and warm.
