Cooking class: learn how to cook traditional & innovative Italian recipes from a local Cesarina

Shared Experience
Your experience
  • Caponata (typical cooked vegetables mix)
  • Tagliatelle with ragu sauce
  • Ricotta-filled raviolo

If you're curious to discover the authentic flavors of traditional Sicilian cuisine, then this is the experience for you. Under my supervision, you'll learn to prepare a complete menu, a true tribute to the island's traditions.

We'll start by making caponata, a savory appetizer that embodies the essence of Southern Italian cooking. Then we'll move on to a rich and flavorful main course: homemade tagliatelle topped with a meat ragù, a pillar of Italian cuisine. Finally, to end on a sweet note, we'll prepare a sweet raviolo filled with ricotta, a unique and surprising delicacy. It will be a fun experience where you can get your hands in the dough and learn techniques you can replicate at home. I'm waiting for you!

We had the great pleasure of taking a cooking class with Patrizia. Patrizia and her family are incredibly warm people, and we really enjoyed our time together in their beautiful home. After being welcomed with an aperitif, we learned how to prepare a variety of Sicilian dishes, even using fruit from their own garden. Everything tasted really delicious! Patrizia's caponata and sweet ravioli were our absolute favorite dishes of our entire trip to Sicily. We can absolutely recommend this cooking class to anyone looking for an authentic and warm Sicilian experience.

My kitchen is a return to the roots of my childhood, when I helped my grandmother prepare fresh pasta and typical Sicilian impignulata. It was from there that my passion for cooking in general was born: from leavened preparations to large leavened ones like bread and pizzas. Among the many dishes I prefer, the caponata stands out as an appetizer, followed by first courses like tagliatelle alla norma or with ragù. For the main courses, I prefer roasted meats or the typical "brusciolo", in addition to mixed grills. To conclude with sweetness, you can't miss the cannolo with ricotta, fried ravioli, and various cakes.
