Hi from Cinzia!

Cinzia, our Cesarina, welcomes us in a characteristic stone farm house - in the village of Merana between the Langa Astigiana and Monferrato - in a valley surrounded by hills and gullies with ‘a lunar aspect’.A love for authentic cuisine, fruit and vegetables from the garden, wine from local producers and honey from her hard-working bees are the basis of her menus. "a culinary experience at my house will give you a taste of the simple and genuine flavors of Piedmontese cuisine."

We had a wonderful evening with Cinzia and Bruna. It was a real honor to be taught how to make pasta by an Italian and such a great Nonna. We felt like friends and not customers. We would love to come to you again and again. Grazie Mille :-)

Nous avons passé un agréable moment avec Cinzia et sa famille. Nous avons pu profiter d’un repas copieux et préparé avec soin, une bonne sélection de vins italiens, le tout dans un super cadre ! Accès par de petites routes mais nous avons pu stationner notre van sans problème.

We had a wonderful lunch in Cinzia’s cosy home in winter out of the fog and rain. The wood burning fires were lovely and warm. Three generations of cesarine 👑👸 in the farm house Cascina Galli. I had not realised that cesarine means female Caesar, so we were in the presence of queens! On the table were so many tasty treats. Cinzia’s mother-in-law ran a pasta shop for about 12 years so she helped us make pasta with her Imperial machine. We made spinach and ricotta ravioli and plin, which were cooked in walnuts from the tree outside. Then we ate a chicken rollata with roast vegetables and finally chestnut chocolate torte with espresso. We were so full! I loved chatting with Cinzia about issues in the news and appreciate her local knowledge which will help us on our travels. She has gorgeous old china, beehives in her garden and is interested in people from all over the world. I don’t know how she has the time to work as an engineer, a mother, a cesarina all whilst speaking English fluently. We booked quite late but she was able to whip up a menu that fit our request very quickly. Grazie mille Cinzia ~ thank you for welcoming us into your family farmhouse.
