Hi from Gigliola!

I love cooking traditional Tuscan dishes, with a particular preference for appetizers and first courses. My specialties include fresh pasta, gnocchi, crostini, and bruschette, all made with fresh, local ingredients. Additionally, I am very skilled in preparing game and rotisserie dishes, which enhance my cuisine with authentic and robust flavors. My passion for Tuscan cooking drives me to continuously experiment while always maintaining a strong connection to tradition.

Our time with Gigliola and her daughter Sarah felt less like a cooking class and more like stepping into a warm Italian sonnet. From the very first welcome—Prosecco in hand and friendly conversation—we felt truly at home. The ingredients spoke in their own language of beauty: tomatoes bursting with the soul of Sicilia, basil freshly plucked from the garden, golden homemade olive oil, and garlic with the earth still whispering on its skin. Every element felt like a stanza from Italy’s rich, edible poetry. Gigliola guided us through each verse of the culinary experience with grace. From kneading the pasta dough to watching ribbons of tagliatelle emerge from the machine, from stirring the rich nonna’s sauce to shaping ravioli—it was all joy and artistry. Dinner was a masterpiece: laughter, storytelling, and a table filled with flavors that sang. And just when we thought the poem was complete, dessert arrived—sweet as Vin Santo, crisp as Florentine cantuccini, and unforgettable as a line of verse you carry home in your heart. A truly poetic experience—one we’ll savor long after the plates were cleared.

Thank you for the most amazing and authentic cooking class! Gigliola and her daughter greeted us at the door and in we went to get acquainted over delicious local snacks. Gigliola were so accomodating ahead of time in making sure we got to choose the types of pasta we wanted to learn to make. We were greeted with nothing but kind hospitality and loveliness as we were taught how to make long pasta, authentic pomodorro sauce from scratch (using their local tomatoes!) as well as spinach and ricotta ravioli. After working together in the kitchen, we all sat down together to eat the pasta dishes together and they did not disappoint. Gigliola and her daughter have a wonderful charm, we really really enjoyed the cooking class and it was a highlight of our trip to Tuscany. What a wonderful way to end our trip - thank you for having us, we will never forget your amazing recipes (made easier by the follow up digital copies) and kind hospitality.

Cooking with Gigliola was the highlight of our two week vacation to Italy! There is something beautiful about coming together to cook and eat a meal together, and what made it even more magical is that Gigliola invited us into her home to teach us her ways. We made pomodoro sauce, tagliatelle pasta, and spinach/ricotta ravioli. These are memories and recipes that we will cherish forever. I hope that we can do another cooking class together with Gigliola in the near future!

It was a great experience! Gigliola was an very friendly host and excellent, passionate cook. First, we were welcomed with some local aperos and wine. Gigliola introduced us step by step how to prepare ravioli and taglioni. Afterwards, we enjoyed our freshly own-made dinner together. We and our teenagers really liked it a lot! We are big fans and want to do it again we we come back to Italy!
