A wonderful experience, exceeding our expectations. Our original date was not available, but communications were clear and there were several alternative choices of dates and locations so we were easily able to find a time that worked.
Our host, Monica, was lovely and welcoming. The recipes were elegant in their simplicity and delicious. We were already planning to make them at home for friends before we even finished the meal.
The space was beautiful and full of character. The entire experience was so personal and intimate, I wouldn't change a thing.

Monica shared her love of cooking with us. The food was fabulous but I loved hearing her share her life in Varenna

After a bit of a challenge finding the location (google maps isn’t always the best choice for the most accurate directions) and needing to ask the local pharmacist for more friendly directions, it was lovely! Such a cute venue. I was expecting someone’s kitchen or a cooking school atmosphere, but this seemed more local and like we were cooking in a time long ago.
Monica was so delightful and welcoming, starting us off with a glass of Prosecco. From the start, you could tell that she has a passion for cooking and teaching. She made everything seem so simple and that we could easily make this at home for our friends and family.
We actually started off making the dessert which was tiramisu, however, when I told her I don’t like coffee, she quickly accommodated my to make a limoncello tiramisu - delicious!!
Then it was on to making the pasta as it needed to rest about a half an hour, and in the meantime, we made a farro salad with homemade pesto and fresh tomatoes. It is something I will definitely make again!
Finally, we made the filling for the raviolis, rolled out the door very thinly and made little Luna shaped raviolis. Monica finished off, preparing our meal. We enjoyed some red wine and an excellent dining experience. The meal ended with some limoncello. And of course, some pictures of the event.
I highly recommend this experience and especially with Monica in Varenna!!

Monica was a great host! She made the experience personable and authentic teaching us about her culture but also getting to know us. The cooking was wonderful and the location was easily accessible! We will be back and hope to share the recipes learned with our cookbook club!

Monica was a fantastic teacher and host, not to mention an amazing cook. Her focaccia is the best focaccia I have ever had. We were in Italy for about two weeks and we both agree that this is the best meal we had and one our favorite experiences on our trip. Grazie Monica!
