Cooking lesson: learn how to cook Italian recipes with a local Cesarina

Private Experience
Your experience

Join me, Barbara, a local Cesarina from Montepulciano, for a special cooking class where we'll create a three-course menu of authentic Tuscan dishes. We'll start by making the famous handmade pasta called pici all'aglione, a savory tomato and garlic sauce that will leave your taste buds craving for more. For our main course, we'll prepare tender meat slow-cooked in a rich red wine ragu, served with crispy roasted vegetables. Finally, we'll end our meal with traditional Tuscan cookies paired with a glass of Vin Santo. As we cook and eat together, I'll share with you the stories and history behind each dish, giving you a true taste of Tuscan life. Come and join me for an unforgettable culinary experience in the heart of Tuscany.

My husband and I had a great morning with Barbara preparing pasta & dessert. She is so knowledgeable and so nice to chat with! We highly recommend her. The food was better than the food we had the prior night with a private chef. Thank you Barabara!!!

Cooking with Barbara was so much fun! My husband and I signed up for an evening intimate class at Barbara’s home, which was so lovely. One other couple attended the class and we had a great time getting to know them too. Barbara taught us how to make traditional pici pasta and gnocchi from scratch, along with flavorings for the sauce and a tiramisu. We drank red wine while learning new techniques and highly recommend taking this class if you want an authentic experience!

We loved our cooking class with Barbara! She had a beautiful home and taught us how to make two different pastas and tiramisu, which were all delicious. We learned a lot and really enjoyed spending time with her during the class. Definitely was one of the highlights of our trip. We highly recommend that other people book this class with her!

Barbara welcomes us in Montepulciano Station, a historic village nestled on the hills in the province of Siena, near the characteristic medieval village is surrounded by three circular walls and is one of the most visited tourist destinations in the area. If you see it for yourself, you'll soon understand why: the old town sprawls over a steep hill, adorned with stunning towers and steeples, while its square opens onto the breathtaking panorama of the Tuscan countryside. Our Cesarina’s country house encapsulates this charming atmosphere. Her beautiful wine cellar is home to dozens of aging bottles of local wine, and the rest of the apartment is warm and welcoming. It is here that Barbara serves us her local specialties; simple, but with sterling character and unforgettable taste.
