¡Hola de parte de Anna!

Bari ha sido cruce de caminos de diferentes culturas: griega y latina, lombarda y bizantina, normanda, románica y medieval. De cada una de ellas ha sabido captar y conservar conocimientos y sabores, sobre todo en el arte culinario. En esta mezcla de culturas y variedad gastronómica, conocemos a Anna. Nuestra Cesarina recibe a sus invitados en un gran salón y, en los días de primavera y verano, en la terraza con vistas a la ciudad. Su casa siempre está abierta para acoger y cuidar a sus invitados. Su pasión por la cocina y la enogastronomía nació de la curiosidad. «Conocer los productos, probar todo lo bueno que ofrecen nuestros huertos y puertos, hablar con los productores y comprender el trabajo que hay detrás, ponerme en juego personalmente en la elaboración de platos típicos de nuestra cultura culinaria, me ha ayudado a refinar mi gusto».

Anna was very knowledgable about pasta, and very patient as she took through the process of making cavatelli, capunti and oriecchiette. The meal afterwords, all local foods, was excellent, as was the conversation. I very much recommend this experience.

This was an excellent class. Anna’s instructions were all very clear and there was a good amount of time for a hands-on experience. It’s great to have a new recipe to try. The lunch with the class was outstanding with a large number of excellent local things and great pasta and drinks. Anna’s knowledge of local foods is extensive and that added a lot to our experience. She was very responsive to our dietary needs which was appreciated. We recommend this class to others.

Anna opened the door and we knew from That smile we were going to be in great hands. Anna skillfully taught Travis and I to make Tiramisu in a traditional manner without alcohol. Once that was in the fridge we went onto making pasta. And Anna was so patient teaching us the different techniques with using your finger compared to using a knife. Once the pasta was done we sat down to an arrangement of local cheese salami olives and homemade jams. Absolutely delicious with a spritz. We then all enjoyed the pasta which was orecchiette with tomato and cheese. Then the delicious desert of tiramisu with chocolate liquore. Everything was perfect. I would suggest anyone visiting Bari to book Anna’s class it was exceptional.

One of the best things we have ever done on holiday. Such an honour to be in someone else’s house and be made so welcome. Absolutely loved Anna and her friend Macella who were our hosts. Along with three other guests we learned lots and laughed more! Loved making the different pastas and the real way to make tiramisù. Hadn’t realised we would move on to aperetivos, delicious antipasti then a dish of Anna’s homemade orchiette and pomodori sauce. Enjoyed a beautiful glass of red wine then home made chocolate liqueur and limoncello all with a lot of laughs. Best of all Anna and Macella were gracious in entertaining my efforts to speak Italian with them. Brilliant experience. Would highly recommend 🙂
