Cooking class: learn how to cook traditional & innovative Italian recipes from a local Cesarina

Shared Experience
Your experience

This cooking course takes place at my home, set in the stunning scenery of the Gulf of Aranci, one of the most charming areas of Sardinia. I will personally guide you to discover the secrets of local culinary traditions, with a focus on fresh fish, the star ingredient of our recipes. During the course, we will prepare three dishes together: as a starter, a delicious tuna caponata, a dish full of Mediterranean flavors; for the main course, we will cook red tuna with olives, capers, oregano, and cherry tomatoes, all enhanced with pesto; and finally, to end on a sweet note, we will prepare a delicious Sicilian cassata. A unique experience that will allow you to discover the dishes and culinary traditions of Sardinia. I look forward to welcoming you for a day dedicated to great food!

Dino and Giulia are lovely and charming hosts, and they were very patient with allowing me to practice my Italian with them. The antipasti they served to start was delicious, and the caponata was so fresh and tasty! The maccarones di busa reflected a labor of love, and the crown jewel were the baci di venere! We loved our afternoon spent with Dina and Giulia!

I’m a retired chef, and I’ve spent most of my life in the kitchen. My greatest passion is working with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. Together with my wife, I decided to open our home to share culinary experiences, using vegetables from my garden, locally sourced meats, and fresh fish from nearby fishermen. As a Sicilian, I love blending the flavors of my homeland with those of Sardinia — both from the sea and the land — creating a unique and delicious fusion. I’m also passionate about teaching, especially when it comes to traditional desserts like Seadas, Cannoli, and Sicilian Cassata.
