We are Maria Elena and Nicola, and our passion for hospitality leads us to welcome guests to our home by offering traditional La Spezia dishes. In this experience we will prepare dishes of poor origin in the manner of the old generations. Nicola's grandparents owned the oldest La Spezia tavern "Da Caran" from which we draw inspiration. We will serve the appetizer with a welcome drink by the pool and then move to the table under the garden patio. We will prepare fried squash blossoms and croutons with anchovies in Monterosso oil, potato gnocchi with pesto prepared in front of you, mixed vegetables from the garden stuffed Ligurian style and to finish the inevitable tiramisu in a jar. All washed down with an excellent white wine from our area.

This was one of our very favorite experiences on our recent vacation in Italy. We are a family of 5 (children are 16, 13, and 9) and we all loved the food, the setting, the hospitality, and conversation. Maria Elena and her husband were the best hosts. We loved sitting in their outdoor kitchen and learning about their culture. Maria Elena is an excellent cook. Our kids devoured her anchovies, fried squash blossoms, and homemade pasta. I have already recommended this experience to several friends.

I'm Cesarina Maria Elena, and together with my husband Nicola and our son Pietro, we run a home restaurant in our countryside house just a few kilometers from the city. My passion for cooking started as a child when my friends and I would cook desserts such as meringues and jam tarts to enjoy at picnic-style snack times. I began this venture to fully appreciate our home, our traditions, and our great love for our land and hospitality.
