Food Tour: discover the best places where to taste the finest local food & wine
This experience is a journey into the past of traditional Genoese cuisine and the heart of its historic center, where famous and ancient food shops and markets are hidden.
Walking through narrow alleys lined with centuries-old buildings so close they almost touch, we will shop for authentic ingredients together and then cook traditional Genoese dishes in my home. We'll knead chestnut flour tagliatelle, including a vegan egg-free version, and dress them with authentic Genoese PDO basil pesto, both in its traditional and vegan variations. We will also make a typical medieval dish: farinata, a savory chickpea flour pancake. And to finish on a sweet note, we'll make tiramisù.

- We had a wonderful morning with Tiziana and Roberto. Tiziana is a wonderful cook and teacher, Roberto translated into English for us and both were warm and friendly hosts. We loved making the pastas and tiramisu and under Tiziana’s tutorage it tasted great! While we ate, we enjoyed Roberto’s information about Genoa. We would highly recommend this experience.
- My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Tiziana and Roberto! They were such gracious hosts and made us feel right at home. We learned to make pasta and tiramisu, and the instructions were easy to follow and the food was delicious. They sent us the photos they took, so we didn't have to worry about taking pictures and could immerse ourselves into the experience. We also received a copy of the recipes so that we can create them again and again at home. I highly recommend Tiziana and encourage others to book this experience as well.
- Spending the morning with Tiziana and Roberto was an absolute delight and a highlight of our trip. They were very welcoming of us into their home and very knowledgeable. I definitely recommend booking this experience.
- Our time with Tiziana and Roberto was unbelievable. We booked this experience at the last minute (the night before) when our other plans got canceled due to weather. Tiziana was quick to let us know how to find their location. It was a blessing to be able to meet them and learn from them. Their home was so welcoming and we will never forget the memories we made.
- Tiziana and her husband Roberto were lovely hosts! They made me feel at home immediately. Tiziana was a patient and instructive teacher, and not afraid to share her cooking secrets ;-) And the pasta and tiramisu turned out delicious. I would highly recommend this experience.
