Learn how to create three iconic dishes of Ligurian cuisine: Focaccia di Recco, with puff pastry and stringy stracchino cheese; Tagliolini al Pesto, with the perfect green sauce of basil, pine nuts, and olive oil; and Gobeletti, Ligurian pastries with shortbread shells and chocolate and hazelnut cream. My family of 6 (2 grandparents, 1 parent, 3 children) had a wonderful cooking class with Patti. She took wonderful care of us, from meeting us at the Imperia train station to setting up a wonderful little TV nook for the children. She and I chatted before our visit and fine-tuned the planned foods to our family's likes and needs. We learned SO much from her and turned out to be reasonably good "Italian" cooks! My 9-year-old granddaughter and I came home wanting to show others in the family what we had learned. I even found a chitarra ("guitar") on Amazon so that we can make homemade pasta and pesto sauce, just like Patti taught us! I heartily recommend spending a day with Patti. You feel like you are friends even before you arrive and you leave full of a delicious meal (antipasto, pasta, dessert, homemade fruit liquors-- you are stuffed!) and the feeling that, if you are back in Imperia, you have an invitation to return and pick up where you left off-- chatting, sharing, and learning with Patti.
