Catia, our Cesarina, lives on the outskirts of Padua, a city full of treasures to be discovered. Art, culture, history and gastronomy, imposing squares, alleys and shops, nothing is really missing. Nothing is missing from our Cesarina's table either: delicacies that trace the typical Venetian and Paduan flavors, made with raw materials, most of which come from farms in the area.

My specialities

- Bruschetta with vegetables

- Bigoli (homemade pasta) with sauce

- 'Sarde in saor' (sweet and sour sardines)

- Roasted radicchio

- Tiramisu

This was an amazing experience that we will never forget! Catia was a lovley host that made us feel at home from the start. She shared her family recipes and love for cooking with us☺️ We are left with greater cooking skills and a deeper love for italian cuisine and culture! We would highly recomend this course, as it was one of the best experiences we had in Italy!! Thank you so much to Catia for this great memory❤️

My day with Catia exceeded all expectations! The moment we enter her home I knew I was meeting a new friend. We cooked, ate, drank shared and laughed. I enjoyed learning her vegan take on cooking and she taught us simple things I can take home and use in my kitchen. Her home is lovely, not only is she a wonderful cook, but she is a beautiful artist. She expresses her art not only in her painting, but also in her cooking. Catia did not rush our day, she made sure we had a relaxed and enjoyable cooking experience. If I have an opportunity to return to Padua cooking with Catia will be number 1 on my to-do list.

My parents, aunts, uncle, and I spent a wonderful Sunday with Catia cooking, chatting, laughing, and of course enjoying a (few) glasses of wine! We even were introduced to her family - who were all just as lovely as she is! Catia went above and beyond to welcome us into her home and introduce us to traditional Venetian culture and cuisine - welcoming us with a beautiful serving of Cicchetti that we enjoyed outside on her patio before we moved into the kitchen to begin preparing Bigoli and Tiramisu. The entire experience was very hands on and immersive. Catia also invited us to visit her garden and pick a few items to taste right off the vine. I could write paragraphs about how wonderful our experience with Catia was - I highly recommend taking the opportunity to cook with her!! Thanks a MILLION, Catia - I hope our paths cross again in the future!

Catia (and her family) treated me to a day of unexpected delight. I had signed up for bread making, and we made a delicious spelt pizza rossa and loaf of sesame covered bread which her son grilled to tasty perfection, but it was all of the conversations, the sharing of information on so many subjects, strolling through her garden and eating and cooking some of its bounty, receiving recipes and information on her vegan cooking, her passion and compassion, and the comfort of sitting at her kitchen table as if this was my home for all of it, that created the kind of day you cannot get in an ordinary cooking class. Catia went out of her way to insure a good experience for her guest. And the pizza and bread were delicious! Grazie Mille Catia and family!

E invece no perché ho trascorso 7 ore in compagnia della Cesarina CATIA.

Wonderful day learning about the market, about Padova, and vegetarian cooking. Catia is a delight to spend the day with.

Spending the day with Catia was like spending the day with a new friend (who happens to have a wonderful vegetable garden, knows how to make pasta, and has many home recipes ready to share.) We started with the open market, a coffee, and walk through a bit of the old city--with Catia sharing some of her knowledge about the city's history. She then welcomed me to her lovely home (full of her own beautiful oil paintings.) We started in her garden--which I loved. We picked tomatoes, peppers, zucchini with their flowers. Then to the kitchen! I am an experienced cook, always interested in learning new recipes and techniques, and I left with lots of new tastes, recipes and skills. I also feel like I left with a new friend. We talked non-stop--about food, cooking and eating seasonally, and honoring the ingredients. We also talked more deeply about raising sons, losing our mothers, climate change, art, poetry. And we laughed a lot too. In short, it was a magical day I will savor for a long time. Grazie mille, Catia!

My wife and I had an amazing evening with Catia. She is such a warm and inviting soul. She shared her passions for food, painting, singing, and Italy. We were enriched by our experience. Both my wife and I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to learn about Italian culture (especially Padua) and good food - made from a combination of tradition, knowledge, and passion.
