: We spent the morning at Joëlle and Ricardo's in Livorno. They are super lovely hosts, and I wish there was a Joëlle&Ricardo in every town we visit! We were 3 generations: my 10yo daughter, my 78yo active mother and myself (f 50). My mom speaks French and understands Italian, and I speak English, French and Italian, so the class was a fun fluent mix of whatever language came first to our mind (Joëlle being a Belge lady having lived in Italy for several decades, and Ricardo being a local). Joëlle was graceful enough to choose vegetarian recipes to our request, and allowed my daughter to actively help preparing the food - she had a blast using the pasta cutter, rolling the picci and folding the ravioli! Joëlle was also very helpful assisting us weighing the food since my child has a medical condition that requires calculating the food hydrates based on their weight. She made everything so easy for us! Both her and Ricardo were easy to be with, generous with their time and patient with my kid. They made the conversation flow naturally and made it feel like we were good old friends. They had the ingredients nicely prepped when we arrived, so we could focus on the recipes right away. They also had a lovely Italian aperitivo ready to enjoy with wine while we waited for the dough to rest. Their house is tastefully decorated, modern, clean, welcoming and with beautiful views over the sea. Everything was perfect! Even finding a place to park on the street was easy (we visited in July and drove from San Vicenzo). Thanks Joëlle and Ricardo for helping us create such happy memories of our trip to Italy! Can't wait to get back home to make tiramisu following your recipe again!

: An Unforgettable Tuscan Cooking Experience! Joëlle is a fantastic cook and an excellent teacher with a warm, engaging personality. She made the entire experience both educational and fun. Her husband, Ricardo, was equally lovely — together they are the perfect hosts. We were welcomed into their home like family and taught the art of making authentic Tuscan pasta, step by step, with plenty of hands-on practice. While our dough rested, we enjoyed delicious snacks and local wine, sharing stories and laughter despite the rainy weather outside. After the class, Ricardo graciously drove us back to the port shuttle so we could easily return to our ship, an unexpected kindness that truly went above and beyond. This experience was the highlight of our trip and one we will remember fondly. Highly recommend Joëlle’s class to anyone visiting the Livorno area!
