Food Tour: discover the best places where to taste the finest local food & wine

Shared Experience
Your experience

Our meeting point is right in the centre of the city, and this is where we will begin our gastronomic tour. Crossing the main street of the city, we will first stop for a coffee in one of Reggio's oldest bars, where you will have the opportunity to taste typical local sweets. After a stroll along our beautiful seafront, we will sample some typical savoury local delicacies: cold cuts, cheeses, crispelline, etc. Finally, I will take you to Italy's most famous ice cream parlour, which is recognised and certified. Among the various flavours, the most notable are hazelnut, bergamot (a citrus fruit typical of Reggio), mango, and crema reggina. If the weather conditions do not allow us to do the tour, I will prepare the various tastings myself at my home.

An Unforgettable Family Highlight in Reggio Calabria! Our family of 6 had the most wonderful time taking a private cooking class with Antonella! From the moment we stepped into her home, she welcomed us like old friends and made us feel completely at ease. The entire experience was hands-on, engaging, and incredibly fun for all of us. Antonella is a patient, talented teacher who shared her passion for traditional Calabrian recipes with so much joy. Kudos to her wonderful niece Carla who helped with translation for us. We loved learning the art of making fresh, handmade pasta from scratch and tasting all the incredible local ingredients. Sitting down together at the end to enjoy the delicious meal we helped prepare was the perfect finish. We can not say enough about kindness of Antonella, Giovonni and Carla. You were so generous with your time and great company. We arrived strangers and left feeling like family. If you want an authentic, warm, and memorable culinary experience in Reggio Calabria, you absolutely must book a class with Antonella. Thank you for your amazing hospitality! We wish Antonella and her family lots of love. We will cherish the memory of time spent with you always. A sincere thank you. Grazie mille!!! XXOO Rob, Laura, Terry, Sarah, Owen and Emmett

My wife and I had the best time and got more out of the day then just learning how to make pasta and tiramisu. Antonella and her family were amazing. The best part is my wife’s family is from Calabria and Antonella explained a lot of what we were cooking and the history behind it. If I’m in that area again with friends or family I will definitely be taking this class again

Cesarina from 2018Location: Reggio Calabria (RC)    Languages: English and Italian
In the heart of the Mediterranean, in the deep south of Italy, lies a corner of light, sea, and poetry. We are in Reggio Calabria, where its waterfront is one of the most scenic and beautiful promenades in our peninsula, offering the scent of the sea, views of the unmistakable silhouette of Mount Etna, and the evening sunset over the strait. Just steps from the historic center, we meet Antonella. Our Cesarina welcomes us into her cozy home with a panoramic terrace overlooking the sea. During her cooking classes, Antonella shares typical Calabrian recipes: from pasta rigorously handmade, like "maccheroni al ferretto," bursting with the colors and flavors of the land and sea, to cured meats accompanied by typical preserves of vegetables, eggplants, and other vegetables preserved in oil, and sun-dried tomatoes, ending with traditional desserts.
