Our adventure begins at the port, where I’ll pick you up in my Fiat 500 for a short tour of the city. Along the way, you’ll discover two typical specialties of Messina: granita with brioche and arancini, authentic local flavors that tell the story of Sicilian tradition.
After this first experience, we’ll head to my home, where you’ll get hands-on in the kitchen! Together, we’ll prepare two types of homemade pasta: lasagna and ravioli filled with ricotta and spinach. At the end, we’ll enjoy everything we’ve made, accompanied by a glass of local wine, for a relaxed and convivial moment. To finish on a sweet note, we’ll taste a typical dessert from Messina, such as a cannolo or a soft "blancmange". It will be an unforgettable experience.

- Great experience! Mariella was awesome and the food was amazing! We will definitely be taking what we learned home with us and try to replicate the authentic Italian food that we made! We ate so much enjoying our creations we didn't have to eat the rest of the day!
- We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Mariella. She met us in the square, then we went for a caffè in a nearby local shop. We then went to her home/apartment where we began our lesson. Through google translate, we were able to converse. Mariella spent the next few hours teaching us how to make homemade pasta, ravioli, meatballs, and other local dishes, all which were amazing. My husband and I really enjoyed our experience. The only thing that would have made this experience over the top would have been to have 1-2 other couples involved.

Born and raised in Messina, I actually learned the Messina tradition when I grew up, because my parents were originally from Gioiosa Marea and Piraino, provinces of Messina but with several differences in methodology. I try to combine these diversities in a taste that is, I would say, pleasant. I like to know and above all I would like these traditions not to disappear.
