A dinner that tastes like Liguria! White wine, bruschetta, pesto: it was the dinner of the "camalli "of the port. A tradition for the Genoese. Ligurian bruschetta, pesto pasta to the Genoese recipe, accompanied by the ever-present focaccia will take us by imagination to the low life and rhythms of the last century, where one could enjoy a dinner together with the products of the territory. We will talk about pesto, wine and Liguria! I will make pesto for you and share its secret recipe and we will taste it together. I will reveal other dishes, to be made with pesto and I will reveal the ancient recipe for rabbit Ligurian style, I will tell you about its preparation before bringing it to the table.

Claudia was great. She started by explaining a bit of Genova’s history and introducing me to the historic shops (botteghe) that have been around for 70-200 years selling the same type of merchandise or belonging to generations of the same family. We sampled various types of focaccia and then hit the Oriental Market. The produce and fruit were beautifully arranged. As Claudia explained what some of them were, she would suggest ways of cooking and eating them—it made me want to stay in Genova to sample everything. She even introduced me to some local wine that went perfectly with focaccia. Don’t miss Claudia when you come to Genova!

The stay at Claudias home was a really good experience. She has a wonderful home, made a nice 4 courses meal, where everything tasted just good and last not least, we had a nice and interesting talk for several hours. I would recommend attending here anytime. Thanks Claudia!

I love preparing the traditional dishes of my wonderful region. From trenette pasta with Genovese pesto to Ligurian-style rabbit, fresh tomato bruschetta from the garden to spaghetti with clams. Among other dishes, I offer savory pies, vegetable frittatas from the garden, and ratatouille. All are accompanied by excellent local wines, which I enjoy discussing and sharing their stories, as I am also a sommelier.
