Cooking class: learn how to cook traditional & innovative Italian recipes from a local Cesarina
Shared Experience
Your experience
I am Mauro, the Cesarino of Parma, and I am here to guide you on a culinary journey through my land, rich in Italian traditions and passion. In my kitchen, every dish tells a story. Welcome to my world, where unique flavors and traditions blend seamlessly. I look forward to welcoming you to my cozy countryside villa for a cooking lesson featuring products from our wonderful area, the Parma region. We will start with a mixed cold cuts appetizer, Parmigiano Reggiano flakes, and garden vegetables in a sweet and sour sauce. Following that, the main course will be anolini in broth, and to conclude, a selection of cakes baked in the wood-fired oven, all accompanied by Lambrusco and Malvasia DOP. I can't wait to see you!
This was, without a doubt, one of the highlights of our entire 20-day trip through Italy and Spain! Mauro and his wife welcomed us into their home like old friends. They were incredibly kind, genuine, and made us feel so comfortable from the moment we arrived. We truly enjoyed getting to know them and learning about their family and traditions.
The pizza-making experience was fantastic, and the food was absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh, authentic, and prepared with so much care. We especially loved sampling their homemade cured meats, pickled vegetables, and other local specialties. Every bite was amazing!
Our kids had such a wonderful time helping make the pizza, and Mauro and his wife were so patient and welcoming with them. One of the sweetest parts of the evening was watching how wonderful they were with our children. Our almost 3-year-old completely fell in love with them almost immediately. Before long, he was calling them "Grandma" and "Grandpa," wanted to hold their hands, and kept asking to be held. He doesn't usually warm up to people that quickly, so it was a testament to how genuinely kind, patient, and loving they were with our family. They also introduced our kids to their pet turtles, which they absolutely loved. It made the experience even more special.
If I have one piece of advice for future guests, it's this: **arrive hungry!** My only regret is that I ate lunch before the class. There was so much incredible food, and I wish I had gone with an empty stomach so I could have enjoyed even more of it.
If you're looking for an authentic Italian experience that combines wonderful people, incredible food, and unforgettable memories, don't hesitate to book this class. It was truly one of our favorite experiences of our entire vacation.

A truly wonderful experience
Mauro and Natalia welcomed us into their
home and we enjoyed a wonderful evening
making focaccia, three types of pizza and the
most delicious tiramisu I've ever tasted. Their
limited English and our limited Italian was not
a barrier to some great conversation. We left
feeling like we had spent the evening with
good friends.

We had the pleasure of joining Mauro and Natalia for their Cesarine culinary experience in Parma, and it was absolutely excellent from start to finish. The food was delicious—authentic, fresh, and full of flavor. Mauro and Natalia were exceptional hosts: warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about sharing their culinary traditions. Their hospitality made us feel right at home, and the experience was as heartwarming as it was delicious. This was a highlight of our trip, and we would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Parma!
