Cooking class: learn how to cook traditional & innovative Italian recipes from a local Cesarina

Shared Experience
Your experience

I can’t wait to welcome you to my home, surrounded by garden and vegetable patch! We’ll start the class by picking fresh seasonal vegetables together, then enjoy a refreshing spritz with Prosecco and Cynar to get in the mood for cooking. We’ll prepare colorful, creative ravioli filled with garden vegetables—not your average ravioli, but a real explosion of flavor and imagination. Next, we’ll make tiramisu, Italy’s most iconic dessert, using quality ingredients and traditional steps. We’ll end on a high note with a typical Italian liqueur or amaro, to toast and taste even more of our culinary culture. Cheers—and long live Italian cooking!

Patrizia is an amazing woman! She lives in a beautiful home with stunning views. She is a kind and passionate teacher and ensures you understand how to make the food! The dishes we made were the best food we have had on our trip. I couldn’t recommend her class enough!

We had a lovely family visit with Patrizia and Luka. Our family of 10 enjoyed learning to make pasta and tiramisu. Patrizia and Luka were warm and engaging, and we loved learning about their life and about the region. All the food was locally grown/sources and our dinner in their backyard overlooking the lake was fantastic.

We had an amazing time with Patrizia and her husband. They invited us into their lovely home and made us feel very comfortable. The cooking class was a great experience and Patrizia was a great teacher. Can highly recommend!!

We had the incredible opportunity to learn how to make authentic Italian pasta, tortellini, and tiramisu from a third-generation Italian chef, with the help of her husband. Who knew you could create such delicious homemade pasta with just one egg and a small scoop of flour? I'll never forget the experience of making fresh pasta from such simple ingredients. As amazing as the food turned out, that wasn't even the best part of the experience. I expected the class to be held in a restaurant or a rented cooking space, but instead, we were welcomed into the kitchen of a local Italian couple. It made the experience feel so much more personal and authentic. Luca and Patrizia not only taught us how Italians prepare a meal from scratch, but also gave us a glimpse into everyday Italian family life. Their warmth, generosity, and hospitality made us feel like honored guests in their home. It was both educational and heartwarming. I highly recommend this unique experience to anyone looking for an authentic taste of Italian culture and cuisine. It's a memory we'll treasure for years to come. One note, their home is about 20 min. drive from the Verenna Ferry. Drive or pre-arrange a driver there and back (~40 euros each way)

"My life is tied to the lake, this is where I have my roots and where I’m fine. I am a painter, my work allows me to manage time and the kitchen is for me my second workshop, where I can easily create dishes instead of paintings. My two children, now grown up and my husband were those who made me practice and love cooking. Hosting friends during the summer in the garden was an opportunity to understand that receiving guests is a pleasure and a personal enrichment. The ingredients of my recipes are all genuine, from local producers:  honey, cheese, fish, directly from the fisherman in Dervio, and vegetables from my garden that my husband cares with passion for many years. Our house is a bit like the houses of the past, the fireplace and the stove allow us to warm up and cook with wood, and I must say that the result of the dishes cooked on the wood stove is very good. Also in the garden we have a kitchen and, in summer, we prepare, cook and always eat outdoors."
