Hi from Giovannella!

My cooking is the result of a family passion passed down from my mother, my grandmother, and shaped by the experiences and places that have been part of my life. I love cooking with seasonal, local products, and whenever possible, ingredients from my own garden. I enjoy growing and using aromatic herbs, transforming fruit into unique and healthy jams, as well as creating traditional liqueurs. My cuisine is typical of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, as a Neapolitan transplanted to Puglia, with Sicilian and Campanian grandmothers and a Pugliese mother-in-law. I love French cuisine and exploring “fusion” experiences that blend Southern Italian and international flavors.

Giovannella’s class for vegetarian lasagna was excellent 5 stars. It was a pleasure from start to finish, including her helpers, Maria and Susan. We Met Giovannella’s daughter who was delightful. We made fresh lasagna noodles and tagliatelle, cooked the vegetables and made the bechamel sauce. We then put the lasagna together- we then had a delicious lunch with wine, starting with tagliatelle with fresh tomato sauce, vegetable lasagna, lasagna, and a delicious dessert and coffee- delightful and very knowledgeable teacher with farm to table vegetables and food, delicious bread. I want to go back for a few more days of cooking classes in the near future. Highly recommend this teacher and her classes.

The teacher, environment, and hospitality made a wonderful and memorable experience! I learned so much and made a friendship. I hope Giovanella writes a cookbook. I would be first in line to purchase it!

My husband and I recently took a cooking class with Maria and Giovannella in Alberobello, and it was a fantastic experience. They welcomed us warmly and shared their love for Italian cooking throughout the session. Together, we learned to make two traditional types of pasta from scratch, with clear instructions that made the process easy to follow. Giovannella provided great tips while guiding us through the making of tiramisu, which turned out delicious. After cooking, we enjoyed our meal together, sharing stories and laughter in a friendly atmosphere. If you’re in Alberobello, I highly recommend this cooking class; it’s a wonderful way to spend quality time with loved ones while learning new skills and enjoying authentic Italian cuisine!

A very warm welcome- gluten free intolerance was no problem. We did the gluten free version and my husband the normal version. All items that we needed were prepared for us and a feast to share when we finished the cooking class. A wonderful experience that I would highly recommend! Thank you Giovanella and the lovely assistant Pina
