Hi from Giovannella!

My cooking is the result of a family passion passed down from my mother, my grandmother, and shaped by the experiences and places that have been part of my life. I love cooking with seasonal, local products, and whenever possible, ingredients from my own garden. I enjoy growing and using aromatic herbs, transforming fruit into unique and healthy jams, as well as creating traditional liqueurs. My cuisine is typical of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, as a Neapolitan transplanted to Puglia, with Sicilian and Campanian grandmothers and a Pugliese mother-in-law. I love French cuisine and exploring “fusion” experiences that blend Southern Italian and international flavors.

Giovanella made this cooking class a wonderful experience. She combined useful cooking techniques with reference to Apulian culture. She was accommodating to one in our group with certain food allergies. Most important, the food was delicious!! My highest recommendation!

We absolutely loved our pasta cooking experience with Giavannella! Her location at the Masseria is beautiful and she’s so fun to learn from. Even my husband can now make perfect pasta! The aperitivo and dinner afterwards were beautifully presented and prepared and was the perfect ending to a fun experience. She gave us lots of tips and links so we can do it at home. I can highly recommend her!

La plus belle expérience de notre séjour. Giovanella est une femme exceptionnelle qui aime les gens et le contact. Elle partage son savoir généreusement. Nous avons été attentifs à ses explications et nous avons ri aussi. Ce fut un moment inoubliable pour nous. A notre retour en suisse nous mettrons en pratique ce que nous avons appris. Le dîner fut succulent et la présence du chat focacia un vrai plaisir. Un grand merci également à l'ami de giovanella qui est également un rayon de soleil. Giovanna was an amazing host, chef and all round lovely woman. Her assistant Maria was so helpful. My partner and I had an amazing time making the pasta and tiramisu and an even better time eating it all. Would recommend to everyone within the Alberbello area that has an interest in authentic Italian food.
