Cooking class: learn how to cook traditional & innovative Italian recipes from a local Cesarina

Shared Experience
Your experience
  • Anellini alla pecorara (ring-shaped pasta)
  • Cannoli abruzzesi

In a quiet, cozy atmosphere, I will reveal the secrets to preparing anellini alla pecorara, a typical Abruzzese dish from our mountains. The sweet sauce, enriched with zucchini, eggplant, peppers and sheep's milk ricotta cheese, envelops the pasta, creating a sublime dish, enhanced by a grating of pecorino cheese. The perfect pairing with a bottle of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo will make the experience even more special. For dessert, we will prepare traditional Abruzzo cannoli filled with custard. An unforgettable experience that will introduce you to the authentic flavors of Abruzzo!

Absolutely fabulous evening with Stefania! She was very welcoming. Food was exceptional and we learned how to make pasta! She even got my husband excited about cooking. Great appetizers and a wonderful dinner with her and her husband. We are thankful that she shared her talents and recipes with us and opened her beautiful home to us. This experience highly exceeded our expectations

We (mother & daughter) were looking for a real Italian cooking class and Stefania was the most amazing host and chef! She knows everything about cooking and she shares all her knowledge with you. Her English is good, and a translating app helps for the more difficult words. Even before we arrived she contacted us for our wishes and made sure everything was beautifully prepared. We enjoyed our own cooking in the garden, and her husband Marcello joined us. We had such nice conversations about everything and we felt so welcome in their home. We would recommend everyone that visits the Abruzzen to also visit Stefania, you will experience an amazing cooking class and you will leave inspired! Janneke & Irene

My daughter and I booked at Stefania for a lovely cooking class. We were even welcome an hour sooner since that fitted best in our planning. So nice and very easily communicated. She taught us to cook the favorite dishes of my 14 year old. She gave us actually more: also pesto was homemade by us. And we got extra special treats as antipasti and lovely wine to accompany it all by her husband who used to be a somelier for a few years. A true Italian experience and so nice to have dinner outside in her lovely garden. The gnocchi were so tasty and so much nicer in “Abruzzo style” then as we know it from other regions. Stefania explained the special type of potatoes needed, the special flour and was really clear about all measurements. She’s a walking talking cookbook! So sweet, she kept on giving us extra information and extra recipes, all from her mothers famous restaurant kitchen. All from the top of her head. Her English is full of little Italian words and gestures. She’s a great teacher and if she cannot think of the proper English word, she uses an translate app that works magically. But her English is better than that I’m used to from many Italians! We had a lovely time and went out especially before leaving back home to buy the potatoes press thingy needed for the recipe (easily found in any Italian supermarket). The tiramisu was excuisite and everything we could not finish, we took home to enjoy the next day. This is an experience you do not want to miss. It’s been lovely to feel so welcome and so thoughtfully taught these great Italian classic dishes. I can’t wait to try it when we’re back at home in the Netherlands! Or actually, for my daughter to make it for our family!

My cuisine reflects regional traditions and features original recipes passed down from my skilled mother. From homemade pasta to pizzas, focaccias, bread, and various desserts, my repertoire is diverse. I've taken bread-making courses with a keen focus on different flours and their strength. I consider myself proficient in first courses, and I enjoy creating convivial moments enriched by an excellent selection of wines from my cellar!
