Shared Experience
Your experience
  • Country panzarottini
  • Chitarrina with seasonal vegetable ragout
  • Cream cannoli (a crispy baked shell filled with sweet cream)

On the terrace of my house, amidst the greenery of nature and the sea stretching to the horizon during the summer, or around the old family table by the warmth of the fireplace during the winter, I love to receive my guests. Through recipes handed down from generation to generation, I tell them the fascinating story of my family. Panzarottini, delicious fried stuffed "pasta matta", prepared with care, the use of the old family guitar to make pasta, to be seasoned with local zero-mile products, and the discovery of cannoli, a traditional dessert of our region, will be the protagonists of my guests' culinary journey in my home. In addition, there will be no shortage of artisanal liqueurs and tastings of local products.

What a wonderful culinary and cultural experience. Luisa is a very knowledgeable chef and her method of teaching is calm, encouraging and inspiring. We all learned something new, even Carmela who has lots of cooking experience. Maya her assistant was available for any translation needed to make sure we understood everything that was being discussed. Luisa gave us some expert tips that you can’t get just by watching videos online. After we made our pasta alla guitarra, spinach ricotta ravioli and tiramisu, we sat down to a beautifully set table and enjoyed our creations and spoke of our lives as if we were old friends. If you want to experience the warmth of the true Italian kitchen and Italian hospitality, we recommend Luisa.

The experience of eating authentic Abruzzo food was truly remarkable, and it has provided us with memories that will be with us for the rest of our lives and that we will treasure. The moment we entered Luisa's house, we were greeted with open arms and made to feel as if we were a members of the family during the entire experience. The kindness and hospitality that was offered to us went beyond anything that we had anticipated, which made the event that much more memorable from our point of view. The enthusiasm that Luisa had for cooking shone through in each and every stage of the process. Not only did she prepare meals for us, but she also welcomed us into her world and enthusiastically shared her knowledge and experience with what she had learned. In the course of the entire process, Luisa was very hands-on and slowly guided us through the production of each dish, especially the ravioli that was created by hand. As a result of her meticulous attention to detail and her willingness to explain each step, I became really interested in trying to reproduce the enchantment of these dishes in my own kitchen. The actual food was even better than I could have imagined it would be. We were brought to the center of Abruzzo with every single bowl, which unleashed an explosion of real and opulent tastes. During my travels through Italy, I tried a variety of foods, but the handcrafted meats, cheeses, and fresh pasta were unlike anything else I had ever experienced. It was the ideal accompaniment to the dish, enhancing the overall dining experience, and the accompanying wine, which was also handcrafted, was the right balance. Not only was the food exceptional, but the sense of tradition, history, and love that permeated every element of our time spent there was also a significant contributor to the amazing nature of this experience. Rather from being just a dinner, it was a celebration of both the culture and the family. We sincerely treasured each and every time that we were able to spend in Luisa's kitchen, where we were able to gain knowledge from her, share laughter, and experience the extraordinary flavors of Abruzzo. It was a lovely and beautiful experience, not only because of the delicious food that we enjoyed, but also because of the connection that we came to have with Luisa and her family. Without a doubt, it was the most delicious cuisine we had in Italy, and the memories we made together will stay with us for the rest of our lives.

Cesarina from 2018Location: Pescara    Languages: Italian, English, French
One of the greatest riches of the city of Pescara, in addition to its extensive coast, is its cuisine. Sea, the shepherds, and its refined pastrymakers and housewives. Pescara has a rich culinary heritage, and the province is famous for a series of recipes that are highly sought after and appreciated throughout the world. Despite a tradition that is relatively younger than those of other provincial capitals, Pescara’s is unbeatable anywhere else in Abruzzo. Here we meet our Cesarina, Luisa, who offers us typical local holiday recipes and recipes from her family tradition.
