I will welcome you to my 1913 villa in Messina and you can enjoy the spectacular scenery on the Strait of Messina, I welcome you with a unique gastronomic experience. The antipasto prepared with the best seasonal vegetables that will immerse you in the Mediterranean atmosphere. We will prepare homemade pasta, such as cavatelli or tagliatelle with seasonally based seasoning, with ricotta or alla norma. Finally, the quintessential Sicilian dessert, cannolo con ricotta.

- Maria was a delight! She welcomed us into her home, gave us a tour of her beautiful villa and terrace, shared Sicilian history, and provided exceptional hands-on learning. In just 3 hours, we made 3 different types of pasta and cannolis while snacking and drinking. We ate with the most amazing view of the Messina Straight. Every dish was delicious and made with lots of love and laughter. We highly recommend booking Maria for a class! We will definitely be booking again in the future.

- Today it has been a very special day to me. We have been greeted at the port by Daniela who welcomed us and guided us to her beautiful house uphill in Messina with gorgeous views of the city. She made us feel like we were at our own home and guided us through a wonderful culinary experience where we learned how to cook authentic Sicilian food with the best ingredients available. Andrea has been very friendly and feel times in my life I felt so happy and at ease at someone’s house. This would be an experience that I would and will recommend to everyone as it has been very special. I can only thank Daniela and Andrea for been so welcoming, warm and wonderful with us today.

But to truly get to know this city, you also need to taste its traditional dishes. That’s why I believe the best way to experience the real Messina is through its flavors and aromas — and the best place to do that is in my home. I’m Maria Daniela, and I love the sea. From the garden of my 1913 villa, you can look out and enjoy the spectacular view of the Strait of Messina. With me, you can learn how to make maccheroncini al ferro — traditional fresh pasta seasoned with a rich sauce — and Messina-style veal cutlets, a dish I’ve been preparing since I was a child, when I helped my mother and sisters in the kitchen, filling and rolling them by hand.
